Hans Vlak is co-founder and partner at Strategy Partners, a market analytical and strategic consultancy agency in the field of EMC issues and change processes. He has over 18 years of experience in executing and counseling various (ICT) projects. From both a technical (TU Delft Informatics) and a business background (Chartered business evaluator) he advises organizations about the role of ICT and the impact it may have on operational management. Hans started his career at Ernst & Young Consulting where he quickly specialized in document management. Later he also specialized in business process management and knowledge management. A thread in all his assignments is that he, as primus inter pares, is capable of explaining ICT problems in simple language on management level but is also capable of shifting to the technical staff and explain what the organization expects of them. After the take-over of Ernst & Young by Capgemini Hans has made a detour and was manager dealing with restoring order in the knowledge management and the care of quality within one of the Capgemini divisions. This, among others, has lead to a renewed ISO9001 certification. After that he picked up where he left off and became a strategic ECM advisor and program manager at Capgemini. In 2005, together with Hans Kaashoek and Fred van Setten, he started the Dutch branch of Strategy Partners. He counsels clients in all sectors in the field of strategic choices, contracts, introducing (ECM) systems and executing quality audits. For a number of assignments he was responsible for the successful implementation of large-scaled ECM projects as project leader or program manager. Hans is strongly focused on local governments (municipalities) and works for several municipalities, developing the organization toward an improved (excellent) service. Employing ECM also plays a key part here.
