Strategy Partners regards ECM as the ability to process and handle content that has not been documented directly in a database collection. Within ECM four main processes are managed:
1. Intake van content This process is about the way in which content reaches organizations or how it is being created. You can think of setting up scan lanes, the logistics of e-mails or the way in which created documents are being filed. The term ‘input management’ is often associated with this. For organizations it is important to know where and by whom content is created or made available to the organization. When transforming into a digital conversion process it is crucial to document these data collections and to efficiently put them ready for transaction. 2. The processing of content Many organizations consider the support of content transaction as an essential functionality in order to achieve their corporate objectives. ECM solutions that offer this functionality demand a reassessment of how content must be processed, improved and how it will eventually lead to action. Workflow elements in these solutions provide the possibility to achieve processes with and between several people, parallel or serial. The realization of cooperative bodies, handling files or documents within a certain time limit and executing and monitoring tasks are aspects that are perfectly supported by ECM. 3. The distribution of content It is important that users have quick access to the available information. An organization also wishes to set up its distribution efficiently. What will you send digitally, what will you print and which systems/solutions will yield the best return? Strategy Partners have interpreted this as output management. 4. the storage of content In the end formal corporate documents need to be stored permanently. More and more often organizations have to patently meet the compliancy demands. These are legal demands that stipulate which data collections must be stored in order to prove that you have executed and recorded certain actions. Given our many years’ market knowledge we know which ECM solutions supply this need. Primary is the presentation of the question how this must be set up and what this means to the organization because it entails more than just the implementation of a system. Strategy Partners have a unique position in the ECM market.
